Interesting UNFAO Report

While Malawi seems to be Africa’s food security success story, there are more than enough problems regarding food security in the South. Maize harvests are below average and small-holder farmers desperately need inputs (particularly credit and fertilizer) to ensure yield growth.

This is where pro-poor micro-credit can play a crucial role. I’ve already ranted enough on this blog about the need for low-interest credit access among small-holders, so I won’t subject you all again to it. Check our site to see what we’re doing with smallholders and loan groups in the South.
